About the Acupuncture
NADA’s five-point ear acupuncture protocol grew out of community-led addiction care at Lincoln Hospital in the South Bronx during the 1970s, rooted in Black and Puerto Rican activism. Its emphasis on shared space and quiet, nonverbal support makes it a natural complement to Taoist sound meditation and a sound bath, bringing community care and contemplative practice together.
About the Location
Originally a silent-film theater and private screening room, Besant Lodge carries a distinctive piece of Hollywood history. Its local theater days are associated with Orson Welles and Joan Crawford, while its later life as a Theosophical gathering place welcomed speakers including Aldous Huxley and Manly P. Hall.
